Oval Pocket Pot Holder

Hello my wonderful friends! Hope you all are doing amazing today because I have a perfect craft that will uplift your spirit. Today we’re going to make this oval pocket pot holder that will be great in your kitchen and also perfect as a gift. The pocket definitely allows you to display your kitchen utensils in the process of gifting out. Those pockets also allow your hands fit in perfectly thereby securing them from the heat.

Materials needed:

  • 1 strip of 100% cotton fabric, of 16″ by 10″
  • 1 strip of batting, of 16″ by 10″
  • approx. 25″ of bias binding to sew all around the potholder
  • 1 strip of fabric (different than the body), of 16″ by 10″
  • 1 strip of batting, of 8″ by 10″
  • approx. 7″ of bias binding for the top of the pocket
  • pattern for oval pot holders with pockets
  • 5″ bias binding to form the hanging loop (used for hanging the potholder)
  • matching thread
  • sewing machine
  • walking foot (useful if you’re quilting through thick layers of fabric if your sewing machine is not equipped/designed to sustain sewing through such thickness)
  • embroidery scissors or seam ripper
  • scissors
  • quilting ruler or yardstick
  • fabric markers or chalk
  • quilting clips
  • pins
  • pressing iron with steam setting
