Embroidery Hoop Bunny Easter Wreath

Create a charming Easter wreath featuring a cute bunny design using an embroidery hoop as the base. This DIY project is perfect for adding a touch of whimsy to your home decor during the spring season. Start by selecting a medium-sized embroidery hoop and wrapping it with pastel-colored ribbon or fabric to create a soft background for your bunny motif. Next, use felt or fabric to cut out the shape of a bunny, complete with floppy ears and a fluffy tail. Attach the bunny to the center of the hoop using hot glue or stitching for a secure hold. Finally, embellish the wreath with faux flowers, greenery, and other Easter-themed decorations to complete the look. You can customize the wreath by adding personalized details such as a small banner with a greeting or the name of your family. The soft colors and playful design of the bunny will bring a sense of joy and cheer to your home, making it a delightful addition to your Easter decorations. Get creative and have fun crafting your own Embroidery Hoop Bunny Easter Wreath to enjoy throughout the season.

EMBROIDERY HOOP BUNNY EASTER WREATH SUPPLIES

  • BUNNY TEMPLATES
  • Scissors
  • 6-inch wooden embroidery hoop
  • Fabric
  • Sewing shears
  • Pinking shears (optional)
  • White adhesive foam sheet (can usually be found in the kids’ crafting section)
  • White felt
  • Pink felt
  • Sharpie
  • 4-inch white pom pom (I made my own pom pom with white yarn and my Rya Tie tool)
  • Wired ribbon
  • Hot glue

To begin, download and use scissors to cut out bunny templates.

Stretch the fabric inside the embroidery hoop, pulling the fabric taut. Use sewing shears to trim away the excess fabric around the back of the hoop.

Remove the adhesive backing from the sheet of craft foam, and adhere the foam to the back side of the fabric, using your fingers to smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles underneath the surface of the fabric. Trace the ear template twice onto the foam with the Sharpie, and use sewing shears to cut out the ear pieces.

Use hot glue to affix the ear pieces on either side of the embroidery hoop tightening screw at the top of the hoop, so that the fabric side of the ears is visible from the front of the wreath.

Apply a foam piece to the back of the white felt as you did for the ear fabric. Trace the bunny paw piece twice onto the foam side of the stacked pieces with a Sharpie and cut each paw out with shears.

Using the Sharpie, trace the paw pad and toe pieces onto the pink felt: 2 pad pieces, and 6 toe pieces. Cut out each piece with sewing shears or pinking shears for a decorative touch. Affix a pad piece and 3 toe pieces to each paw with hot glue, as seen below, and then affix the paws at and angle along the bottom edge of the wreath with hot glue.

Affix the pom pom to the wreath with hot glue so that it overlaps the paw pieces slightly.

Finish by making a bow with the wired ribbon and attaching it to the wreath with hot glue, positioning it between the ear pieces so that it hides the embroidery hoop tightening screw.
