Use Sisal Rope to Make a Monkey Fist

All of you now that sailors are professionals in making different knots. So today we`re going to learn how to make just one of them. It`s called monkey`s fist. Do you know why? Because it looks like a small bunched fist. Some people call it also a monkey paw. It is tied at the end of a rope to serve as a weight, making it easier to throw, and also as an ornamental knot. In decor this knot looks brilliant as a summer, coastal or wedding theme.

• Sisal rope, ¼” thickness, 180” long
• Measuring tape
• Scissors
