What you will Need:

  • 5.5″ x 7″ piece of exterior and lining fabric
  • 5.5″ x 7″ piece of insul bright
  • Standard sewing suplies

Step 1: How to Make a Skillet Handle Holder

Layer the fabrics so that the insul bright is on the bottom, the outer fabric is face up on top of the insul bright and the lining fabric is face down on the outer fabric. If you are unfamiliar with insul bright it is a product that it is used like interfacing to insulate items like lunch bags, casserole carriers, and pot holders. It is a terrific product that is well worth getting if you are going to be making any of these items.

Step 2: How to Make a Skillet Handle Holder

Sew one of the short ends through all three layers using a 1/4″ seam allowance.

Step 3: How to Make a Skillet Handle Holder

Separate the lining from the outer fabric and the Insul-bright and sew along the outer edges leaving a 2″ opening in the lining for turning.

Step 4: How to Make a Skillet Handle Holder

Round the bottom edges of the holder so that they replicate the shape of the handle and sew a new seam. Clip the curves. I used my pinking shears for this process but you could use your standard scissors to accomplish the same goal.

Step 5: How to Make a Skillet Handle Holder

Turn the holder right side out through the opening in the lining.

Step 6: How to Make a Skillet Handle Holder

Push the lining into the outer fabric and carefully top stitch around the edge. This part can be a little fiddly but take your time and you should be fine. You have now finished your skillet handle holder.
