You’ll Need:

  • Piece of wood
  • Paint (different greens, white)
  • Paint brushes
  • Water
  • Pencil & Ruler
  • Sponge

Instructions:

  1. Take your piece of wood (I used an old piece of wood from our deck) and using a pencil draw a straight line. This will be your truck of the tree. I drew my line a little to the left so my tree wouldn’t be directly in the center.
  2. Take a paint brush, using a dark green color paint over your pencil line that is the trunk.
  3. Create your branches by starting smaller at the top and bigger as you go down. Make sure the branches have a little downward curve to them too. You can also sketch this with a pencil…it helps to have a guide.

Using a sponge and the dark green paint, slowly dab overtop of the branches. After this it will look more like a tree.

  1. Dip your sponge into a lighter green and dab it randomly throughout the tree to add a little highlight.
  2. Next using your paintbrush mix a little bit of white into the light green. Lightly paint on some of the branches..this will give it a snowy touch.

The end of your paintbrush will be used to create falling snow. Dip the end of the paintbrush in white and dot away.

  1. Added Details: I used a sharpie to write “Let it Snow” on the wood. Next I drilled two holes up top and added a string so I can hang the sign up!
