How To Make Artificial Cotton Stems

It became quite popular today to decorate your home in a rustic, simple style. I can`t imagine it without any plants, twigs and base colours. In most pictures you can notice the stems of cotton. Are they real? We`ll make with you artificial ones and you`ll see that it`s really hard to differentiate real and faux cotton stems. By they way, the last ones are not only beautiful, but also budget friendly. Let`s create together!

Things you need:

  • Jumbo cotton balls (4 per cotton stem) 
  • Cream Cardstock  or Manilla File Folders 
  • Dark Brown Construction Paper  
  • Glue Gun  
  • Glue Sticks 
  • Hairspray (THIS is what I used but any will work)
  • Long sticks from your yard (you can use faux flower stems if you can’t find sticks)
