DIY No Sew Fabric Bookmarks and Watercolor Style Painting Tutorial

Are you looking for a creative way to display your favorite books, or want to try some fun new watercolor painting techniques? If so, you’ll love this DIY fabric bookmark tutorial! These fabric bookmarks make great gifts too! And for those of you who aren’t artistically inclined, don’t worry...the only thing you need to paint with in this watercolor painting tutorial is water! This project will teach you how to create this fun craft project for yourself or as a gift for someone special in your life.

Materials needed:

  • A scrap piece of drop cloth (big enough to make a few standard sized bookmarks)
  • 1″ wide paint brush
  • Masking tape
  • Acrylic paint in various colors* (I chose several shades of blue)
  • Paint tray
  • A dish of water
  • Paper towels
  • Parchment paper (or something that will protect your work surface)
  • Scissors
