10 Minute Repurposed Dish Towel Apron

One of my favorite places to be is in the kitchen. I love cooking and baking and spend so much time in my kitchen. Of course, with all of that cooking comes quite a few messes, mostly on my clothes. Biscuits, pies and cakes tend to end up all over me no matter how careful I try to be, which is what has led me to this latest idea to made an apron at home.

Do you wear an apron when you’re cooking? If you do and if you need a new one, this is a really easy DIY apron that will keep you fashionable in the kitchen. They also make wonderful gifts. If you know someone who also loves spending time in the kitchen or someone who is getting married soon, these DIY aprons would be the perfect gift.

If you have a dish towel that you can repurpose – or if you find a great sale on them – this little apron will only take you about 10 minutes to finish. You will also need some coordinating ribbon – or contrasting depending on your personal style – and a sewing machine for this one. The process is super easy and you can have this one finished in just a few minutes, even if you have never sewn before.

Supplies:

  • 1 dish towel (Mine are just regular size 27″ x 21″)
  • 85″ of Ribbon, (at least 1.5″ wide, the wider the better) I suggest 85″, but you can measure to suit your body size. May Arts has a great selection of grosgrain options.
  • Sewing Machine
  • Stick Pins
