Super Easy Ironing Board Cover

Are you still using that old ironing board cover? Yeah, that one. Aren’t we all guilty of using them, haha! Well, it’s time to change them. The fun part of this ironing board cover is that it has handy pockets for pressing tools. Sounds great?

Materials needed:

  • 2 yards of fabric for the cover
  • a fat quarter of fabric for the pockets
  • 2 yards of insulbright insulated batting (you could use 100% cotton quilt batting instead, but it wouldn’t reflect the heat back up)
  • 1 zipper 13’’ long for the zipper pocket
  • 1 small plastic buckle
  • 1/2 yd elastic to fit the buckle slot
  • 4 yards extra wide double fold bias tape (2’’ wide unfolded )
  • fabric marking pen
  • quilt basting spray (such as SpraynBond), optional
  • 4 yards of 1/16’’ drapery cording
  • a bodkin (recommended) or medium sized safety pin
